2026 COMMITTEES
- MLS – (Kandi Thompson & Terra Donahoo) A monthly meeting via Zoom or at the Metrolist Office. Currently 2 members participate on the MLS MetroList Committee. There will be a Committee Chair and a Backup Committee Member. One of the members will be required to present to the membership at each of the 4 Quarterly membership meetings. In addition to Quarterly meetings, they may be asked to report during Brokers and BOD Meetings.
- EVENTS/FUNDRAISING/SCHOLARSHIP – (Emily Jordan, Donna Blackwell, Maritza Palumbo & Neil Carlson) Consists of 1-5 Team members that work with the AE to plan events throughout the year. The team will provide cost information, venues and dates to the BOD for approval as well as running the events. The team may enable the help of other members or vendors. The funds donated are generally to help local organizations and our ACAR Scholarship Grant. Scholarships are received from Amador High and Argonaut High School Faculty staff. A few members of the Team must be present at both Scholarship Nights at both High Schools for the awards ceremonies to hand out the Scholarship to the Recipients. Board of Directors makes the final decisions about where/when to distribute funds. Provide reports to BOD as needed. All donations are deposited in ACAR Fund Raising account at Bank of Marin.
- PRO STANDARDS -This is now handled by CAR.
- EDUCATION – (Kandi Thompson) This team is a committee of 1-3. Chair will evaluate various education classes that may be helpful in agents’ business. Chair will set up flyers, venues, analyze costs and send them to BOD for approval. Provide monthly reports for BOD monthly meetings. Chair will work with AE to handle sign-up requests.
- SOCIAL MEDIA – (Neil Carlson & Garrett Gray) This team is a committee of maximum 3 REALTOR® members. Currently there are 3 admins who monitor Amador Association of REALTORS® Facebook page where MLS subscribers/participants and ACAR affiliates share information amongst each other. The team makes recommendations to Board of Directors who make final decisions.
- GRIEVANCE – (Sarah Zulim & Neil Carlson) This team is a committee of 3 REALTORS®. The members must be a REALTOR® in good standing for at least 2 years. This team reviews complaints submitted to the board office. They determine if complaint is valid and follow a manual guideline to process. Members will take grievance/pro standards class every other year. The team has the power to impose a sanction.
- RAF -(TBD) This could be a committee of 2. Their main purpose is to inform members of the importance of the REALTOR® Action Fund and encourage donations throughout the year. They will meet as needed. They should email the membership and provide information at general membership meetings.
- BUDGET/FINANCE – (Kimm Kennedy, Maritza Palumbo & Valerie Brand) The team is a committee of 1-3. This team will work with AE/Secretary to create a budget and do monthly reconciliation of the Bank Accounts and Credit card account as well as check all utility bills for errors. Finance background is very helpful. The budget team recommendations must have final approval by BOD.
- FORMS – Neil Carlson) Team of 1-2. Makes suggestions of grammar and check all social media posts, flyers to social media for advertising events etc. or anything going out to the members and checks with the board, when needed.
- GAD (Government Advocacy Director) – (Garrett Gray) 1 Chairperson. This GAD should be interested and knowledgeable in legislation. Works with CAR Government affairs person. Chair may possibly travel once or twice a year. This team would keep members updated with all of issues or bills that may affect REALTORS® business. C.A.R. website may be helpful with legislative issues. There are approximately 1500 bills affecting real estate that come through Sacramento every 2 years. CAR/NAR provides information to members via “Calls for Action” or “Red Alerts” to members. ALL members need to respond to those requests.
