The Amador County Association of REALTORS® is seeking a friendly, collaborative, and forward‑thinking Association Executive (AE) to support our organization with integrity, clarity, and vision. This role is ideal for someone who is strong on the computer, self-motivated and understands the real estate industry, values strong relationships, and thrives in a member‑focused environment.
The AE keeps the Board of Directors (BOD) fully informed, guides the association’s operations, supports volunteer leadership, and ensures our members have the tools, resources, and advocacy they need to succeed. This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on administration, all in service of a vibrant and diverse REALTOR® community. The AE reports to the BOD and works through the BOD on all decisions and financial matters.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Organizational Leadership
- Collaborates closely with volunteer leaders to shape and carry out the organization’s vision under local, state and national associations of REALTORS®
- Develop and implement programs, events, and initiatives aligned with strategic goals and the evolving changes and needs of the real estate industry.
- Oversee operational procedures, ensuring policies are clear, flexible, and responsive to changing market conditions and policy changes.
- Prepare and recommend objectives, timelines, and strategic actions to the BOD.
- Provide administrative support to the BOD and it’s committees and volunteer groups.
- Administer day‑to‑day operations with professionalism, kindness, and a commitment to member service.
Physical & Financial Stewardship
- Maintain a welcoming and well‑equipped office environment with the technology and tools needed to support members and staff.
- Ensure the association’s financial health, including revenue development, budgeting, reserves, and investment policies; and reports on such matters at BOD meetings.
- Attends regular BOD meetings, Broker’s Meetings, and general memberships meetings and is prepared with relevant supporting reports.
- Work with the BOD to develop comprehensive budgets that support both current operations and future opportunities.
- Act quickly and responsibly when new initiatives, challenges, or industry shifts arise.
Leadership & Development
- Lead with kindness, clarity, and a focus on professional growth.
- Works to grow the association through new memberships
- Focuses on ways to increase member retention
Member Services & Engagement
- Maintain strong communication systems that keep members informed, connected, and prepared for industry trends.
- Be able to work closely with MetroList, CAR and NAR
- Attends monthly BOD meetings, along with quarterly membership meetings, and keeps BOD/membership updated on association topics.
- Support and enhance new‑member recruitment, retention, and orientation programs.
- Coordinate professional standards services, including ethics and arbitration processes.
- Offer required and optional education programs based on current needs and future trends in real estate.
- Develop and promote innovative marketing tools and member resources.
- Create meaningful networking and social opportunities that support members’ careers and community connections.
- Identify and implement new services and strategic initiatives based on ongoing trends and member feedback.
Internal & External Relationships
- Position the Association as a trusted resource and respected leader within the community.
- Serve as a positive, visionary leader who builds strong partnerships between staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
- Recruit, nurture, and support volunteer leaders through a thoughtful leadership development approach.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with local, state, and national REALTOR® associations.
- Work with accounting and legal professionals to support operations and compliance.
- Build strong relationships with local government officials, legislators, service providers, media, and allied real estate groups.
- Support advocacy efforts, fundraising, and member mobilization activities.
- Provide support and guidance to members of the public to mitigate any complaints or issues in a professional and courteous manner (such as grievance, pro standards, etc).
Qualifications
- Experience with business and operations management in real estate, association management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a friendly and collaborative communication style.
- Strong understanding of REALTOR® association operations and member needs.
- Comfort working with volunteers, committees, and diverse member groups.
- Financial management experience, including QuickBooks, budgeting and oversight.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and member‑focused culture.
- Strong professional communication skills and computer experience.
